(Oct. 7, 2021) The St. Lucie Clerk and Comptroller's office is shining a spotlight on Domestic Violence and Breast Cancer Awareness through October, lighting up downtown Fort Pierce and St. Lucie West offices in pink and purple.

"We all know someone who has been personally impacted by breast cancer or domestic violence, and in many cases – we know both," said Clerk Michelle R. Miller. "Our goal is to bring awareness to individual struggles and attention to resources available to this community."

On Oct. 8, Deputy Clerks in Fort Pierce, St. Lucie West, and County Finance will "Go Pink" and dress to bring awareness to the importance of proper screenings and breast cancer research. For "Purple Thursday" on Oct. 21, Deputy Clerks are donning purple to highlight the impact of domestic violence, and free resources the Clerk's office provides to those seeking protection from their abuser.
